Unlike most cacti, the Christmas Cactus (Schlumbergera x buckleyi) is not native to a desert. Instead, this unique succulent is native to an entirely different ecosystem — the tropical rainforest. Christmas Cacti grow on tree branches in the rainforest and thrive in the high humidity, dappled light, and warm temperatures that the environment provides.
